Club History
The Kissing Point Cricket Club today is the result of a merger between the North Turramurra and Kissing Point Cricket Clubs of the 1980s. North Turramurra is the ‘older’ club, having first played in the HK&HDCA in 1948/49 and reformed in 1972/73) while Kissing Point joined in the 1961/62 season.
Important Dates (Timeline)
- 1948 North Turramurra Cricket Club is formed
- 1956/57 North Turramurra C.C. competes in its last season
- 1961 Kissing Point Cricket Club is formed
- 1961/62 Kissing Point C.C. enters its first sides in HKCA Junior competition
- 1965/66 Kissing Point C.C. enters its first side in HKCA Senior competition (in B Grade)
- 1972/73 North Turramurra Cricket Club is reformed and enters __ sides in HKHDCA
- 1981/82 Kissing Point C.C. fields its first A Grade team
- 1990/91 Kissing Point C.C. & North Turramurra C.C. merge to form the Turramurra Cricket Club
- 1996/97 The junior club name reverts back to Kissing Point Cricket Club
- 2001ish? Senior cricket follows and Turramurra C.C. is renamed Kissing Point Cricket Club
- 2006/07 New club logo is adopted
Club Colours
The colours of the Kissing Point Cricket Club are blue, red and white. Adopted as part of the Kissing Point Sports Club….. They were…… The North Turramurra colours were black and white.
The Club Logo
The current shield logo of the Kissing Point Cricket has been in use since the 2006/07 season. It was generously designed by Jeff Stewart (D2 Premiership winner and current player). The old logo was a version of the ‘template’ logo of the Kissing Point Sports Club, customised for the cricket club. The logo of the North Turramurra Cricket Club was a magpie. The magpie continued to be used by the merged club (Turramurra Cricket Club), up until the name reverted to Kissing Point Cricket Club. More details to come…………
