U8/U9

Non competition cricket. The rules are available in the Library.

If you are asked to umpire/assist and are unsure of a rule interpretation you should contact your club’s junior cricket co-ordinator, whose details will be known to your manager and coach. The opposition generally has someone who knows them. Commonsense and co-operation is the approach to be taken in U8s, 9s, 10s and even the early stages of competition cricket-the game is about giving the kids a go and enjoying it.

Scoring is easy to learn-there will always be someone who knows how to score at the first few matches-just sit alongside and learn as you go. It is a great way to get involved in the game from the sideline. Scoresheets are available in the Library.

For advice about rain delays, over calculations and the rarely encountered rules, always keep a copy of the Association’s rules download in the kitbag.
