Non-Competition

KPCC enters teams in the HKHDCA. It generally fields between 3-5 teams in each of the U9s and U10s age brackets. U8's were added in 2009/10. The HKHDCA puts all its teams in each age bracket into the one division, so that grading is discouraged. The KPCC philosophy for these age groups is to encourage participation by ALL players, regardless of ability, and to try and group friends and/or school mates together. The full rules can be found here .

Play is generally on Saturday mornings, about 2 hours duration for U8/ U9s and 2 and a half for U10s. The children use a hard plastic encased ball with a soft inner called a ‘wonderball’ or ‘incrediball’ (these are NOT the normal hard cricket ball and much softer and lighter to catch). Helmets are supplied by the club, along with other protective gear as necessary. The season runs from about early September to March each year, with a break from just before Christmas to the end of January.
